3.1.2.1.2.1.  Export in file - General

Procedure

  1. In the Export menu or in the toolbar open the format overview via Export in file.

    [Note] Note

    The last selection is shown as the main menu point as long as a new export format has been selected.

  2. From the different export formats select the desired one.

    -> The respective dialog box Export using ... format opens, which is similar for all export formats.

  3. One or more tabbed pages are available, which are selected by the respective tab. In the help in hand you can find information on the individual tabbed pages, when you follow the links.

  4. In all dialog boxes (Export using ... format) there is an setting option Destination file, for some formats the item Version in addition.

    In the dialog box determine the Destination file via search button ..., possibly the Version via list field below. Optionally activate the Open directory after export checkbox.

    For some formats no declaration of file is necessary. The file name is created automatically then. However you can adjust the target directory.

  5. Click on OK.

    The part is exported in the desired format. Afterwards you can call up the file from your CAD system and work on the part.

2D derivation2D derivation

  • Export of 3D parts to 3D CAD systems

    The creation of a 2D derivation is not necessary.

  • Export of 3D parts to 2D CAD systems

    The export of 3D parts to a 2D CAD system requires a 2D derivation before the export.

    Detailed information on 2D derivation is found under Section 3.1.1.11.3, “ Create 2D derivation ”.

  • Export of 2D parts to 2D CAD systems

    Parts already existing in the 2D format can be exported without 2D derivation.

  • Export of 2D part to 3D CAD systems

    Parts already existing in the 2D format can be exported without 2D derivation. Please note during export to 3D programs that the respective CAD system must have a 2D-Modus in which it is currently being operated.
