5.2. Function

In PARTproject all information necessary for the display and selection of parts and assemblies in the PARTdataManager is included.

Geometry, attribute table, dimensioning images and additional information together compose a project with project file *.prj.

Below the *.prj file (it will later be opened in PARTdataManager) there are individual files of which the product is composed.

*.3db (3gb) - Geometry (see Section 5.2.1, “Opening PARTdesigner ”)
*.tab / tac - Characteristic attribute table (see Section 5.2.1, “Opening PARTdesigner ”)
*.pra, *.png, (*.bmp) - Preview images (see Section 5.12.2, “External creation and import/conversion of Dimensioning views ”)
*.pdf, *doc, etc. - Additional information
*.def - Translations (see Section 5.8.2.1.13, “ Translation ”)
*.dim - Dimensionings (see Section 5.10, “Specify automatically created dimensionings (notations) for 3D view and 2D derivation ”)
