9.5.1.5. Context menu "Value range assignments"

Variables of certain parts can be provided with value ranges instead of fix values. Value range variables are marked by respective icons (also see Section 7.8.12, “ Value ranges ”).

If a part containing value range variables multiply exists within an assembly, it makes sense to bring all in a mutual dependency, meaning to map the value range variables onto each other.

The assignments are created in the docking window Configurator, under menu item Value range assignments. They can be made manually, however, using the automatic function for assignment saves a lot of time. Just when using it for assignments from the dummy part it already saves time.

With each other part, like console pipes showed in next figure, the benefit of the "Automatic" function increases.

The value range variables of both console pipes can be mapped on the value range variables of the dummy part.

The value range variables of both console pipes can be mapped on the value range variables of the dummy part.

The following figure shows the relation between yellow fields (Value range variables) and the single assignments in the Configurator.

The call of the respective function can be performed on the item Value range assignments via context menu command Properties.

-> The dialog box Assignment of value range variables is opened.

Assignments can be made manually or automatically. The procedure shall be illustrated by examples.
