7.8.12.  Value ranges

The characteristic attribute table in PARTdataManager can show fixed values or offer the possibility to select values from a value range. Value range fields are marked with an icon . The icon in only displayed in the active row. When clicking on the icon, the respective dialog is opened.

The certain mode of the value range field is determined in PARTdesigner -> Variable Manager under Status.

There are three types of value ranges:

  • Type Value range variable: Value range with depiction of numerical or textual values

The type Value range variable has different subtypes:

    • "from - to" without limitation or with limited min.- or max. value (numerical)

    • "from - to" with enclosed start and end value (numerical)

    • "from - to" without enclosed start and end value (numerical)

    • "from - to" with additional default value (numerical)

    • "from - to" with specified step width (numerical)

    • Listing of discrete values (textual or numerical)

    • "from - to" in combination with an IF condition. (Default values can optionally be set [default or forced].) Details on this can be found under Section 7.8.12.4, “Type "Value range variable" in combination with IF condition (Attribute algorithm) ”.

    [Note] Note

Textual values have to be stated with single quote ('Text'). Numerical values do not need single quotes. Inside an IF condition additional quotes are needed. (That means two in total for text and one in total for numerical values). Details on this can be found in the specific subchapters.
