A Calculation-Assistant simplifies the part selection. (Also compare ???.)
As of V9.07 the Calculation-Assistant has been completely reworked. On the new base Assistants can be created at particularly low cost.A
After launching the assistant appears as docking beside the Project selection window.
In the index tree
you can recognize the Calculation-Assistant
at the respective icon 
.
In the following the handling is described:

Start the Calculation-Assistant in the Project selection window by double-clicking on the respective line in the index tree.
-> The assistant window is docked. You can release it anytime and use it as separate window.

Perform all settings via list field, slider, etc.

In the Project selection window, under Search for either select the option parts or parts and part families.
Start the calculation in the Calculation-Assistant by clicking on the button .
-> In the example in hand now from the settings the variable conditions for D and L are calculated.[62] You can see the created search string in the input field of the Full-text search.

The results are listed according to customs on the Search results tabbed page.

Optionally you can use the created search string as base for further modified searches in the Project selection window:
Enter the pitch in addition for example.

The combination with further search methods would be possible as well.
