5.1.7.3. ERPsolutions/db professional

This module enables the integration of company own META data into the PARTsolutions software.

With this, you can connect attributes from the META data, such as for example internal article numbers, prices, material, part status, etc, with the installed standard attributes of the PARTsolutions supplier catalogs.

The module contains the following functionalities:

  • PARTlinkManager ― Administrative tool for all ERP relevant data[73]

    • Display and adjustments in the LinkDB (in the LinkDB all information about the connection concerning the part allocation to ERP master data is located)

    • Configuration of the PARTsolutions ERP environment

    • Adjust the visual display of the data in the PARTsolutions environment (example: different coloring for individual rows according to condition)

    • New application of DB fields in the LinkDB

    • Dataset export and import via CSV file

  • PARTadmin ― Configuration tool for PARTsolutions administrative tool for roles and users[74]

    • Application of roles and users

    • For roles and individual users, view filters may be set (preferred rows, hiding certain parts and columns, etc.)

    • For roles and individual users, rights may be assigned (export restrictions, application of new rows, part number request, etc.)

    • System settings for PARTsolutions may be made

  • PARTsolutions Plug-Ins ― Enhancement for PARTsolutions, in order to integrate the ERP functionalities in all program parts.[75]

    • Additional function bar in PARTdataManager

    • Additional columns with ERP information in attribute tables

    • New processes possible; for example to apply for ERP numbers

  • Database scripts ― Predefined scripts for creating the LinkDB, which can be used with PARTsolutions.[76]

    • Currently available for Oracle, MS SQL, DB/2 and SAP DB

[Note] Note
  • Operation is also possible across locations (ATTENTION: Valid only for one ERP system. With heterogeneous ERP environments, please inquire).

For the replication of the database at different locations, a replication manager is required. This replication manager is to be supplied by the customer.

There are no restrictions concerning the number of displayable columns.

  • We highly recommend obtaining an eCATALOGsolutions customizer in addition to this software module.

  • For installation and connection to the ERP environment(s) an individually discussed consulting package is highly recommended.

  • The customer must supply sufficient database licenses (with SQL basic compatibility, for example Oracle, SAP DB, DB/2, etc.). Should the customer not have a database system, the SAP-DB is delivered as Free DB under GNU license.

  • Concerning software and licensing, the customer must supply an ODBC connection (WIN/UNIX) to the above named database system. For free SAP DB, the ODBC driver is already supplied with the GNU license.

  • For the data flow from the ERP system in the direction of the PARTsolutions database there are several realization options (so-called connection types[77], for example cyclical replications, replication per trigger, etc., which depend on the wishes of the customer. For a "real" online connection to the ERP system (in other words, generation of new article numbers directly from PARTsolutions), in addition to the ERP module, an ERPsolutions/gateway (e.g. ERPsolutions/gateway SAP MM or and individually programmed gateway) is required.

The module is independent of the CAD interface used.
