5.1.5.  User-role concept

  • User and role dependent user interface in PARTdataManager

User defined display of the data within PARTsolutions (e.g. different colors for single lines and/or values depending on a certain condition like in the above picture)

  • Starting administrator modules (e.g. PARTlinkManager) depending on authorization

  • Filters controlling view (Preferred rows, hiding certain parts and columns)

For example, only the purchase department sees the price field; developer A sees all parts; designer B only sees parts, which are released for a special project, etc.

"Preferred rows" could be, only to display lines, where an ERP_PDM_NUMBER is existing.

  • General or user/role dependent Export restriction for lines using user defined conditions

Automatically resulting is a restriction of parts diversity, because the designer can only use parts with existing ERP_PDM_NUMBER.

The following shows an example for the so-called status light, which controls the Export restriction.

With parts with ERP number and "Requested status" not Expired the status light shows green.

With parts with ERP number and "Requested status" Expired the status light shows yellow.

With all other the status light is on red.

With green and yellow the respective parts can be exported to the CAD system; with red they cannot!

Any condition is definable for the Export restriction. Colors and forms are configurable user-defined as well.
