6.1.  Help

Launch

Open the online help via ? menu -> Help or F1.

The CADENAS Help System dialog box opens.

[Note] Note

All manuals available under $CADENAS/proghelp/"language" are loaded.

A search is performed encompassing ALL manuals.

Alternatively you can call up the context sensitive help with Ctrl+F1. The documentation opens at the specific place. On this see Section 6.2, “ Context help... ”.

Search via table of content

  1. Select the Contents index page.

  2. Open the desired chapters with click on the little arrows.

  3. In the table of content click on the desired pages.

  4. Page up and down you can perform on the main page via Prev and Next link.

    Browsing backwards and forwards according to the sequence of already called up pages you can perform via yellow arrow keys top left (alternatively with ALT+arrow key left <- and ALT+arrow key right ->).

Index search

  1. Select the Index index page.

  2. Click on the desired term.

    -> On the right side the desired chapter or a selection dialog box (if multiple hits exist) opens.

    [Tip] Tip

    Type the first letter of the desired term on the keyboard. -> The highlighter jumps to the first entry for this letter.

Default search

  1. Select the Search index page.

  2. In the Search for input field insert the desired term.

  3. Click on Search.

    -> The results are listed.

    Browse through the hits by clicking on the arrows.

Enhanced search

An "Enhanced search" is also available. Here you can search for similar terms, leave out terms, etc.

[Tip] Tip

Often the Advanced search works better, because it does not consider little variations in spelling or can optimally connect several terms.

Delete index

After an update of the help files (e.g. when you have manually updated the files) it makes sense to delete the index in order for the index to be automatically generated again.

  1. Edit menu -> Preferences...

    -> The Preferences dialog box opens.

  2. Select the Documentation tabbed page and mark all manuals.

  3. Click on Remove.

  4. Close the window with OK.

  5. Start the application (e.g. PARTdataManager) again.
