The function
Sort variables is
related to the sorting in the characteristic attribute table (not
to the one in Variable Manager). When creating a new variable it will
automatically be queued at the last position.
When clicking on the button, the dialog box Sort table variables is opened. Using the buttons and , you can set the position as desired.
