When creating variables in the Media editor, they are only available for set Test project. Especially when using them in the datasheet, they should be available for the whole catalog and so have to be transmitted to the catalog root element. This process is done in PARTproject. Details on this can be found under Section 5.9.17.3, “Transmit variable properties - Derivation hierarchy ”.
In the PARTtemplateDesigner, in the settings dialog Template, click on the button .
