The example in hand uses 19 characteristics from DIN 912 to DIN 915 (see adjoining CSV file) and shows the complete standard procedure on the base of the template Article Meta Search.[a] The crucial parameters are found in the columns Norm (Standard), Abmessung (dimension) and Material. |

[a] The

The above sample catalog is used (compare Section 3.1.2, “Create catalog from CSV file”).
So that we will start with a neutral, clear state possibly made assignments are removed under Products via context menu command Remove category from catalog.
For the automatic assignment a process has to be created.
In the context menu of Workspace -> Processes -> Article Assignment, click on the command Add new process.
Click on the button Open a default template and then on the command Article Meta Search.
-> The dialog box Number search options opens.
Determine source and target catalog by clicking on the search button and confirm with .
-> In the dialog area Process the Pipeline is displayed.
-> On the left side under Processes -> Article Assignment and on the right side on the top, the process name is displayed.
One by one click on nodes and edges. Thereby the adequate dialogs are displayed below. The respective selection is marked in yellow.
Select Product Source. The source catalog (created from the CSV file) is already displayed.
The setting options for Standard number, Description (optionally) and Type (optionally) are displayed.
In the example in hand select the option Field containing the standard number and determine the field by using the search button
-> The dialog box Field selection opens. In the example in hand select Norm (Standard) and confirm with OK.
-> The selected field is displayed in the Process dialog area now.
Select the node Class finder. The target catalog Norm (Standard) is already displayed.
Select the edge classified and determine the fields containing the specific values for the characteristic and the material. Here in the example in hand these are the CSV fields Abmessung (dimension) and Material.
Select the node Line finder: Leave the presetting Analyze NENN (default).
For the other nodes and edges no settings are performed (in the example in hand).
Click on to start the process.
-> Have a look on the dialog box Progress. Once the process of reading the CSV file is finished 100% is displayed.
Optionally, save the process. In this way you can call it anytime and use it again (possibly modified).
Open the product links (Workspace -> Catalogs -> <Name of CSV catalog> -> Products.
Example: Line 6 could be assigned uniquely be the automated process (quality = 100%). Line 7 is a variant. The "quality" is shown with 50%, because a product is uniquely specified by two parameters in the NENN (D and L) and only one of them (D) can be assigned uniquely.
Product from CSV catalog and PARTsolutions catalog in comparison
Click on in order to see the values of the CSV file in comparison to the values of the PARTsolutions characteristic attribute table.
The comparison of both entries shows whether an assignment is correct or not.
Total number of displayed products
Top right the total number of products is displayed (here 20).
Detailed information to analyze the uniqueness of links
Quality (colored percent value), Type, Affinity, Status, Catalog, Product and table values show specific information on the type of link. See Section 3.1.8, “Article assignment - Products - Column definitions”.
Using filters can split the result list to process individual parts.
At how many products an unique assignment (quality = 100%) was possible?
Detailed information on this can be found under Section 3.1.9, “Article assignment - Filtering products”.
Finally you can export the correct links into the link database or first into a CSV file and later into the LinkDB from there. Compare Section 3.1.10, “LinkDB export (Directly or via CSV file)”.
