3.1.14.3.4.  Unmachined / Finished part report: Setting options

The setting options for Search unmachined parts for finished part and Search finished parts for unmachined part are identical.

  • Search sample (unmachined part) / Search sample (finished part)

    • Use selected part: Select the desired part in the index tree.

      [Note] Note

      NOT the part loaded in the 3D view is used, but the selected one in the index tree!

    • Load file: Select the desired part via browse button ....

  • Number of search results: Herewith you can restrict the number of displayed results. This does not affect the search itself.

  • Accepted error in finished part

    The error is caused by "missing material" on the unmachined part.

  • Maximum waste in unmachined part

    The maximum waste defines, how much material is allowed to be removed.

  • Resolution

    The resolution controls the search quality. With higher resolution more details are covered, however the search takes more time.

  • Search only in preferred rows

    You can also create a report based on preferred parts. Hereto activate the checkbox. This is comparable to the activation of the button Preferred rows on/off in the ERP toolbar. Then the report only uses preferred parts.

    The state of the button Preferred rows on/off in the ERP toolbar has no effect for reports.

  • Unmachined parts to search or Finished parts to search

    At directories to be searched select the checkbox.

  • Filter for results:

    In the dialog area Filter for results the results can be filtered via Variables search in addition. The function may be used several times by clicking Add search function repeatedly.

    [Note] Note

    The filter concerns the result parts, not the search parts.

    • In order to add the Variables search, in the dialog area Filter for results, click on the blue link Variables search.

    • -> The dialog box Variables search is opened.

      At the ERP_PDM_NUMBER variable enter the token for the desired material group.

      Now those parts are filtered from the original result list, whose ERP number begins with 'BCD'.

      Click on Commit.

      Details on the Variables search can be found under Section 3.1.6.4.4, “ Variables search ”.

    • -> Now you can see your entry under Filter for results. The filter is already activated .

  • Custom variables:

    When clicking on the button Edit custom variables , the dialog box Custom variables is opened.

    Here you have the possibility to define variables, which shall be displayed in the report in addition. These are displayed at each part.

    [Note] Note

    The search itself is not affected by the use of user defined variables.

    Possible are both ERP variables and variables from the characteristic attribute table.

    First click on Add in order to add a new line.

    • Variable type:

      Via double-click into the line under Variable type the list field opens with the following options:

      • ERP:

      • Table:

    • Variable:

      Via double-click into the line under "Variable" a list field with the following options opens:

      • Options at variable type "ERP":

        The ERP variables of the table are read and shown as proposal in the form of a list selection. You can also enter any other value.

      • Options at variable type "Table":

        The characteristic attribute variables of the search directory (search source) are listed. You can also enter any other value.

    • Labeling:

      Enter a labeling by clicking on it. This will be displayed in the report later.

    • Unit:

      Optionally you can state a unit.

      If the variable has no own unit, the entered unit is displayed.

      If the variable has a unit, the value is converted - if necessary. The conversion is only possible at the type "Variable".

    Already used settings are saved.

    In the list field, simply select the variable (combination of variables) to be displayed in the report. When moving the mouse pointer over an entry, all variables with their respective description are displayed in a tooltip.
