2.3.1.2.1.2. "Shape" Configuration

When using the settings in the "Shape" blocks the default values of AutoCAD layers can be overridden.

2.3.1.2.1.2.1. Overview on all blocks in the configuration file

In the configuration file ifacad.cfg, under Shape configuration, in the block [CreationOptions, you can find the following sections.

2.3.1.2.1.2.2. Structure of a single "Shape" block

All the blocks are build on the following schema:

  • PSolShapeType_<number>: Here, normally you don't have to perform any changes!

  • PSolShapeWidth_<number>: Here, normally you don't have to perform any changes!

  • PSolShapeCosmetic_<number>: Here, normally you don't have to perform any changes!

  • AcadShapeLayer_<number> = "Layer name"

    This key defines, on which layer the element will be placed in AutoCAD.

  • AcadShapeLineType_<number> = ...

    • bylayer: Default: The layer setting is overtaken

      When selecting one of the following values, the layer setting is overridden.

    • byblock

    • continuous

    • dashed

    • Dash-dot

  • AcadShapeLineWeight_<number> = ...

    • by Layer

    • by Block

    • Default

    • Valid value like "0.13mm" for example

  • AcadShapeLineColor_<number> = ...

    • by Layer

    • by Block

    • 1 = Red

    • 2 = Yellow

    • 3 = Green

    • 4 = Cyan

    • 5 = Blue

    • 6 = Magenta

    • 7 = White

[Note] Note

The numerical values <number> at the single keys doesn't matter. If you create additional blocks, increment the numerical values. All single keys of a block have to have the same numerical value.

If you change values in the configuration file please orient at the displayed values in AutoCAD.

2.3.1.2.1.2.3. Example

In this example Thick Lines shall be created on the layer AM_0 in red.

Initial situation

  • Layer configuration in AutoCAD

    In the Layer Manager the Layer "AM_0" is set to white.

  • Layer configuration in the configuration file

    In the configuration file, at layer Layer "AM_0", the line color is also set to 7=White by default.

Changing color by special Shape configuration

Under "AcadShapeLayer" you can see, on which layer the special Shape configuration refers.

The values for Line type, Line weight and Line color are set to bylayer by default. Thus, the reference is to the layer configuration.

However you can explicitly specify another value of color in the Shape configuration and so override the layer configuration.

Changes on the level of the Shape configuration only apply for the specific shape.

Result:

Now after export the Thick Lines are depicted in red color in AutoCAD.
