  • Database login:

    Always show login dialog: By default, the dialog Database login is always displayed.

    In this way you have the choice to either manually determine a user or to use the option Use currently logged in operating system user.

    This option only works if under Rights administration -> User databases -> Windows, the checkbox Active is activated (which is default setting).

    Otherwise an error message is displayed despite activation.

    If the option Always show login dialog becomes deactivated, Windows has to be activated as user database.

  • Validity of the login:

    • For the current windows session:

    • As long as the application is used: After restarting PARTdataManager or PARTlinkManager login has to be performed anew.

    • Ask user: If this option is selected, in the dialog Database login, the option stay logged in (For the current Windows session) is displayed in addition.

  • Database interface:

    Under PARTadmin -> Category PARTsolutions -> ERP environment, in the dialog area Database interface, you can specify the database interface (ODBC or JDBC) separately for all supported operation systems.

    Determine a default interface and then assign either <default> or a differing interface in the list field.

    The corresponding configuration file can be found under $CADENAS_SETUP/dbproxy.cfg. On this compare Section 4.2.7.1, “ dbproxy.cfg ”.

    • Administration happens closely interrelated with PARTlinkManager. On this see under Section 4.13, “Manual data administration ” and ERP-Umgebung konfigurieren.

      Some functions of PARTadmin and PARTlinkManager overlap. In PARTadmin you have the user-role relation. In PARTlinkManager you have settings independent from roles.

    • The user-role-concept controls part selection in PARTdataManager.
