Basic requirement for the use of this function is the operation of an adequate database such as MS-SQL or Oracle database for example.
Advantage: Through the user authentication the manual registration at the LinkDB is omitted.
Adjust settings within the Database login dialog box.
This is opened when clicking on the button Login to database in the ERP toolbar.
The user does not receive a login window! If the user only has one role, the role selection dialog also is omitted.
In order to engage the Windows user authentication, mark the Try windows user authentication checkbox after you have activated the option ERP environment in the Category tree.
Upon configuring the driver, the corresponding setting on the server has to be made.
Open configuration window via START --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Administration --> Data sources (ODBC) --> Register System DSN --> Add / Configure --> 2nd settings window
One should pay attention to the fact that the option "The standard database change to" is set and the responsible database is given.
The appropriate username with the Windows NT authentication option must be applied in the database server.
All users are automatically logged in.
With Enable automatic login a manual login to LinkDB is no more necessary. The users won't get a login window Database login! If a user has only his own role, there won't be a Choose role... dialog either.
(Compare: Try windows user authentication: Each user has to be applied in the database as authorized for accessing the "PLINKDB" database. This means a higher administrative effort.)
Apply users in the "User" category with their Windows-Login.
In PARTadmin, open category "User Automatic login". In the "Automatic login" field, enter user name and password of an existing user.
Login at start of programSet checkmark at "Login at start of program" in the PARTlinkManager.
PARTlinkManager -> Extras -> Configure ERP environment -> "PARTdataManager preferences" tabbed page
Assign a role to the wildcard (*) as well! If no appropriate login can be found, then automatically this role will be assigned. Thus you don't have to declare a big group of single users.
