Before parts management can be set up, a full version of PARTsolutions must be installed. Ideally, you should install the most up-to-date version.
The basic components for PARTsolutions are installed in the PARTsolutions programs dialog by selecting PARTsolutions parts management.
This ensure the installation of the following basic modules:
PARTdataManager (Section 3.1, “ PARTdataManager ” in PARTsolutions / PARTcommunity4Enterprise - User manual)
PARTadmin (Section 1.1, “ PARTadmin ” and Benutzer-Rollen-Konzept)
The modules for parts management with ERP, PDM, PLM integration are installed in the dialog PARTsolutions parts management with one of the following options.
Parts management productive (without database)
For users who already have a database and want to manually connect PARTsolutions to it.
Parts management demo environment (incl. SQlite)
For users who want to test parts management but do not want to implement it productively. Here the demo data will be installed.
SAP interface (MM/DVS): Module to connect PARTsolutions to SAP MM.
For each of the above mentioned options PARTlinkManager (Section 5.21, “ PARTlinkManager reference ”) is installed.
If Parts management demo environment (incl. SQlite) had been selected, you don't have to select any driver here. JDBC is installed by default.
If Parts management productive (without database) had been selected, the standard selection is MS-SQL Server ODBC driver configuration.
Detailed information on ODBC and JDBC can be found under Section 5.2.5, “JDBC driver ” and under Section 5.2.4, “ ODBC driver”.
You also have the option of selection EDM/PDM/PLM integrations.
For complex problems, such as for example part reduction and importing the initial filling, you need:
PARTdataCenter (see Chapter 3, PARTdataCenter in PARTwarehouse Manual)
