When using PARTsolutions without ERP integration an additional "virtual" column CNSMAT is displayed for material selection. There, select the desired material before exporting.
The following overview shows the interdependencies:
In order for the column CNSMAT to be displayed in the table activate the checkbox under PARTdataManager -> Extras -> Preferences -> Table -> Show material selection.
Configuration files concerning PARTsolutions
All
PARTsolutions materials selectable in the column CNSMAT
are stored in the configuration file material.cfg
.
Following the given structure you can add own materials anytime.
The file contains translations of the material names. These terms are displayed in PARTdataManager.
In PARTdataManager, before exporting open the dialog box Enter value by clicking into the respective field of the CNSMAT column.
The translation of the material stored in material.def is displayed.
Configuration files concerning CAD system (here exemplified for Inventor)
Please ensure that all used PARTsolutions materials are correctly mapped onto the respective CAD system materials.
On the left side: Inventor/Design Data/MaterialMapping.xml - On the right side: $CADENAS_SETUP/ifadeskinv.cfg
$CADENAS_SETUP/If<cadname>.cfg
In the block [MatMap], the PARTsolutions material name (to the left of the equal sign) is linked with the CAD material name (to the right of the equal sign).
Public Documents \ AutoDesk \ Inventor \ Design Data – MaterialMapping.xml
The
Inventor XML file with all materials available in Inventor. Here,
you can find the internal Inventor material name, which you have to
insert in $CADENAS_SETUP/ifadeskinv.cfg
,
in the block [MatMap]. The internal name is marked as such.
<Style InternalName= „<NUMBER>:<MATERIALNAME> “
Alternatively you can export a part to Inventor, there, call up the iProperties, and here, on the tabbed page „Physical“, look up the exact material name in the list field.
Look up physical properties in PARTdataManager
PARTdataManager -> Extras menu -> Physical properties of the part
If you specified the respective values for a material you added yourself in the above mentioned PARTsolutions configuration files, in PARTdataManager, density and all other physical properties are correctly calculated now.
Material attribute in CAD system
Example by reference to Inventor: Inventor iProperties -> tabbed page "Custom"
The following figure shows the respective translated material name when selecting CNS_CNSMAT (here exemplified the German name).
Physical properties of transferred part in the CAD system
Example by reference to Inventor: Inventor iProperties –> tabbed page "Physical"
The following figure shows that the PARTsolutions material has been correctly mapped to the Inventor material and the mass has been calculated by the material values of Inventor.
