1.5.5. How can I define the characteristic of the part?

Once selecting a part or an assembly , the Table view is opened (depending on portal possibly even directly the Variable view).

In the Table view you can specify the characteristic of part.

In the Table view no value range fields are displayed.

Once you are in the Table view, you can generate the CAD model for the selected line (only makes sense if there are no value range fields, which have to be set).

  1. At initial call of part the default line determined by catalog manufacturer is selected (activated option button ). For the default line there is a preview available by default. For all other lines it has to be generated first.

    When changing the row, in the preview, you have to click on the button Update preview.

    In the Table view, you can generate the part of selected line. For this click on Generate CAD MODEL. Depending on portal, may be the button is displayed above the table.

  2. In order to open the Variable view, click on the line number, the preview image or the part name.

    [Note] Note

    The Variable view has to be opened if there are value range fields to be specified. See Section 1.5.8, “How can I adjust value range fields?”.

    Otherwise calling this view is optional.

    The Variable view shows all date lists all data of a certain characteristic.

    When clicking Back , you will return to the Table view.

Change characteristic in 3D view

If provided by catalog supplier the characteristic can be changed in the 3D view in addition.

  1. Click on the pen symbol .

    ➝ Possible values are listed.

  2. Select the desired value.

  3. Confirm by clicking Commit.

    ➝ The new dimension is displayed in the 3D view.
