When creating the geometry, you should limit yourself to the essential external outlines, because too many "fine details" like radii, chamfers, etc., can impair the customer's computer performance. For example, gears should be shown as rotation objects in order to avoid the many details of the individual teeth. Remember that threads, even cosmetic thread lines, are shown as nominal threads in practice.
Sketches are required of each object, either in the 2-D *.dxf format or in the form of a paper drawing. These sketches should encompass at least 3 views. Only this guarantees that the 3D geometry can be displayed properly. In connection, any additional data format such as 3D *.step may also be of help (data comparison).
