3.1.12.  Connections

Within PARTdataManager you can transfer complete screw connections (blind hole or through-hole) to the CAD system.

With click on Connection the Connection section is opened or called in the foreground (if already used). Furthermore window positions are reset.

When you start the connections functionality via PARTsolutions menu in your CAD system and menu item command Insert Connection the part thickness is calculated and transferred to PARTsolutions.

Anytime you can switch between Search and Part Selection, Part view and Connection via the View toolbar.

In version 9 the former PARTconnection has been reworked in many ways. Especially the functionality has been integrated in PARTdataManager.

Innovations with V9.05

  • The Load bolted connection dialog box is opened in the foreground by default.

So you can easily load already saved preferred screw connections. The window shows the following categories:

    • Latest bolted connections

    • Own bolted connections (this user)

    • Predetermined bolted connections (all users)

In this category already created preferred connections by administration are displayed.

    • Database: If there is an ERP integration available, connections can be saved in the LinkDB and loaded again via this category.

Via Extended Settings the behavior can be changed. Other options are:

    • Recent bolted connection

The Connection section opens with the lastly loaded connection.

    • Empty bolted connection

The Connection section opens with an empty connection. All filters are removed.

    • Bolted connection from file

Determine a certain connection, which is basically loaded when opening the connection section.

  • Preview image

You are supported at the connection selection by a preview image in addition to the display of the single connection components.

Innovations with V9.03 SP2

  • Color code in input fields:

As of V9.03 SP2 the input fields for the bore length (Part thickness), Blind hole thread length and Counterbore depth signalize the validity of the entered value by a color code.

  • The entry of a counterbore depth greater than bore length is prevented.

Innovations with V9.02

  • ERP integration with link database is supported for screw connections.

  • The status lights (green, red, orange) on project and value level support you quickly finding the adequate connection.
