3.1.19.1.7.1.  Level of Detail background information

3.1.19.1.7.1.1.  Administrative presettings

In SolidWorks, NX and Solid Edge the Level of Detail can be selected directly in the CAD. So, if desired, the Level of Detail can be determined for the export.

Information about individual specification of the LOD (possibly different depending on special catalogs, directories and projects) can be found under Section 2.2.8.7, “ Block [LOD] - Level of Detail ” in PARTsolutions / PARTcommunity4Enterprise - Administration Manual.

3.1.19.1.7.1.2. Determine the displayed features for each Level of Detail

If no special defaults have been made in PARTdesigner, the calculation of a Level of Detail is automatically processed for each setting in PARTdataManager.

[Note] Note

Varying from the automatism, in PARTdesigner, during modelling, features can be specified as "hidden" or "shown" for each Level of Detail.

Information about creating individual feature displays can be found under Section 6.6.2.10, “ Level of Detail ” in eCATALOGsolutions Manual.

For parts that are available in different Levels of Detail, you can switch between the different LOD in the sketch and sectional views.

The image to the right shows this using the example of SolidWorks.

The change is immediately applied to the sketch and the dependant sectional view.
