The MIDENT is a text string, which uniquely identifies a part.

Do you want to determine the MIDENT of a certain part?

  1. Open the part and in the Extras menu click on the command Open part by MIDENT.

    -> The same-named dialog box opens.

  2. Copy the MIDENT into the clipboard and sent it via e-mail for example.

You received a MIDENT for example via e-mail and want to open the respective part?

  1. In the Extras menu click on the command Open part by MIDENT.

    -> The same-named dialog box opens.

  2. Paste the text string into the dialog box.

  3. Click on Ok.

    -> The desired part is opened in the Part view.

If you work with PARTsolutions with ERP integration, then you have the command Request ERP number per e-mail available. Sent e-mails also contain the MIDENT. On this compare Section 3.1.2.7.11, “ Request ERP number per e-mail ”.
