2.5.5. HiCAD

CADENAS PARTsolutions is released for HiCAD as of version 2015 SP1.

In order to insert a part into the drawing choose the PARTsolutions interface interface.

Then specify in the opened PARTsolutions program the part you want to transfer to HiCAD.

Before the part is inserted, HiCAD issues the message Switch feature off?, prompting you to specify whether the part should be recalculated when inserting it (No) or be inserted into the drawing without feature-recalculation (Yes).

[Note] Note
  • Please bear in mind during insertion that parts from PARTsolutions are, in contrast to HiCAD parts, not fitted in the direction of the Z-axis, but in the direction of the X-axis of the active coordinate system.

  • When transferring parts from CADENAS PARTsolutions to HiCAD, the CADENAS attributes "Part No" and the designation will now be automatically assigned to the HiCAD part attributes $BB (Article number) and $01 (Designation 1). This assignment can be changed in the STD.XML file in the HiCAD SYS\CADENAS directory.

    Example: Attribute assignment

    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    -<AttribMap>
       <Entry H="$01" C="NB"/>
       <Entry H="" C="NN"/>
       <Entry H="" C="LINA"/>
       <Entry H="$BB" C="ARTNR"/>
    </AttribMap>

  • Specify in the configuration management which version of PARTsolutions is to be used for import (as of HiCAD version 1601 this is PARTsolutions version 9).

    To do this, you need to start the program ISDConfigEditor.exe in the directory /HICAD/EXE/ of your HiCAD installation. On the left hand side of the dialog, open in tree structure the path HiCAD > Active configuration > Common > Interfaces > Cadenas > PARTdataManager and enter in the Value field on the right hand side of the window the number of your PARTsolutions version number (see screenshot below):
