2.5.1.2.3. Mesh export (error in mesh)

Possibly it may happen that parts cannot be displayed in ArchiCAD. This is mostly due to mesh errors.

When exporting in mesh format you can select a simplified depiction. This is robust against mesh errors.[3]

Export options -> Option "Simplified depiction"

You can determine this behaviour via configuration file in general:

ifarchicad.cfg

[CreationOptions]
ForcePlaneBasedMesh=0/1

Therefor set the value to 1.

When exporting with simplified depiction the quality of roundings is worse.[4]

Always use simplified depiction (robust against errors in mesh): On/Off

Always use simplified depiction (robust against errors in mesh): On/Off

[3] The simplified depiction is not using rounds. The mesh generation is quicker then. If „ForcePlaneBasedMesh“ is not set, the better depiction is used. Then generation is more time consuming. If an error occurs with the better depiction, normally it is intercepted and the simplified depiction is automatically used. Possibly ArchiCAD is not able to draw the object, nevertheless. If the simplified depiction shall be chosen in general, then you can set the key „ForcePlaneBasedMesh“ to 1.

[4] Differentiated color depiction is only possible for mesh based parts. Otherwise only single features such as cylinder, cone, etc. can be colorized.
