3.1.6.4.2.1.  Full-text search: The most important at a glance
Description of function

The Full-text search is standard search method at standard or supplier catalogs and is looking for names and dimensions, technical data (combination of text and number), which is part of the characteristic attribute table, classification, standard name, standard number, standard text or names of directories.

Process
  1. Enter a search term (text or number).

    Examples:

    • Several terms

      bolt with shank

    • Term combined with numerical values (e.g. nominal diameter and length)

      hexagon bolt 30 100

      hexagon bolt M10x50

    • Any values (from NB, table, path, etc.)

      16.2 21 90

      This entry is equivalent with:

      16.2 AND 21 AND 90

    • Placeholder at the end of the search term

      1234567*
      

    • Placeholder at the beginning of a search term

      *1234567

      Limitation:

      The searched term has to be in NN, NB, CNSORDERNO (order number) or ERP_PDM_NUMBER.

      The placeholder has to be at the beginning OR at the end of the search term. Before and behind the search term at the same time is not allowed.

  2. Under Search in, determine the search area. For details please see Section 3.1.6.2, “Determine catalog/classification/directory to be searched”.

  3. Under Search for, determine whether parts or part families shall be searched. For details please see Section 3.1.6.3, “ Search for Parts | Part families and Parts ”.

  4. Click on Start search.
