4.3.5.1. Overview

The installation of Apache version 2.2 is needed to provide static content faster.

Default port number for APACHE inside DMZ is 80. Port number can be changed by Sysadmin.

The JBoss will be connected to the Apache later to secure the management console.

[Note] Note

If the JKConnector is used, only the Apache server has to be accessible through port 80. No other ports are needed from outside to access the system.

The APACHE Webserver alternatively can also be installed in the "INTERNAL" area (instead of DMZ area), if a REVERSE PROXY is installed inside the DMZ.

Distribution of PARTS (FILES) for EXTERNAL

  1. Distribution by e-mail

If the distribution by e-mail is used, there is no access to INTERNAL required

  2. Direct download

If a direct download should be used 2 possibilities are available:

    1. A direct access from EXTERNAL by an APACHE Virtual Directory to PARTS (FILES) should be activated

    2. A copy of the PARTS (FILES) from INTERNAL file system to DMZ can be processed automatically.

[Note] Note

The documentation is just covering the standard procedure. Changes in architecture are optionally possible.
