5.15.2.1.6.2.  Update manager - Assign projects without preceding mapping

According to the notes from PARTlinkManager, column ACTIVE_STATE and REQUESTED_STATE in a second step the projects "project3.prj", "project5.prj", "project6.prj" and "project7.prj" are edited in the Update manager. At these projects no mapping had been successful.

Via columns "ACTIVE_STATE" and "REQUESTED_STATE" you get notes at which projects an automatic mapping was possible.

Via columns "ACTIVE_STATE" and "REQUESTED_STATE" you get notes at which projects an automatic mapping was possible.

In the Update Manager an empty column New dataset is shown.

For datasets, which could not be mapped, use the search function and look for:

  1. Similar project names

  2. Similar values

5.15.2.1.6.2.1. Assign project3.prj (project and Standard number renamed)

At project 3 no mapping had been possible. This can be seen from the fact that the column New dataset is empty and no table is displayed. In the index tree the icon with the red x is displayed, which signalizes a dataset which could not be mapped.

As long as the project name has only been adjusted slightly, the relation between old and new project can possibly be seen.

But what if this check is not successful?

  1. Click on the icon Search project .

  2. -> The dialog box Search opens.

  3. Select the tabbed page Search and there the tabbed page Text and variables.

  4. Enter variables and values of the old dataset.

Possibly also try search terms under Keyword. If you know an order number which is shown in any column, you can also search with this.

  5. Click on Start search.

-> The search results are listed.

  6. Double-click on the desired search result.

-> The values are inserted under New dataset. (If you double-clicked on project level you possibly have to adjust the table line.)

Proceed with the other project lines in the same way.

  7. Confirm the assignment by clicking on the green checkmark .

-> The respective confirmation message appears.

Furthermore a green checkmark is displayed in the index tree on the edited project line.

5.15.2.1.6.2.2. Assign project5.prj (project and Standard number renamed and Standard name adjusted)

Likewise, at project 5 there was no mapping possible. This can be seen from the fact that the column New dataset is empty and no table is displayed. In the index tree the icon with the red x is displayed, which signalizes a dataset which could not be mapped.

Similar values

  1. Similar project names

  2. Similar values

Another option to find the appropriate dataset is to open the new index tree parallel to the old index tree and to search via the directory structure.

  1. Click on the icon Search project .

-> The dialog box Search opens.

  2. Select the tabbed page Choose.

  3. Open the tree.

    [Tip] Tip

Searching is easier when keeping the dialog box Search open during the whole process of assignment.

    [Note] Note

Color display in the index tree depends on role settings. If you want an up-to-date display you have to update the ERP index after changes. (For the process of assignment this is not essential.)

  4. Double-click on the appropriate project.

(Here in the example the appropriate project can easy be seen by the Standard number [Projekt5 NEW - Projekt5].)

-> The values of the standard line are inserted in the column New dataset (or Selected dataset).

  5. In the table, select the correct line.

  6. Confirm the assignment by clicking on the green checkmark . Proceed in the same way with the other project lines.

5.15.2.1.6.2.3. Assign project6.prj and project7.prj

At project 6 (project and Standard number renamed and directory relocated) and project 7 (project and Standard number (NN) renamed, directory relocated and Standard name (NB) adjusted) proceed as explained under project 3 or 5.
