1.1.3.4.4.1. Generate new search index

Via the Generate new search index command, you can create a new search index.

	Caution
As soon as you have clicked on the button, an error message shows up. This means that personal changes, such as for example hiding certain directory tree folders (see also Section 1.1.3.4.5.2, “Context menu commands in detail ”), are set back through the creation of a new search index and are thus no longer effective. If you have made personal changes and would like to keep these, use the command Update search index .

Caution

As soon as you have clicked on the button, an error message shows up. This means that personal changes, such as for example hiding certain directory tree folders (see also Section 1.1.3.4.5.2, “Context menu commands in detail ”), are set back through the creation of a new search index and are thus no longer effective.

If you have made personal changes and would like to keep these, use the command Update search index .

Typical use cases for Generate new search index are changed storage locations for the library directories or restructured Drives.

As soon as you have clicked on Generate new search index the progress display shows up at the bottom under Index update.
