PARTupdate automatically informs you of catalog updates.

Installation

Precondition for the notification is, that the notification assistant is installed. Therefor you have the following options:

  • During the PARTsolutions installation in the dialog box PARTupdate automatically start with Windows?. (See figure on the right side. Activate the checkbox.)

  • Later via Start menu (Start -> All Programs -> CADENAS -> PARTsolutions -> PARTupdate).

When the installation is finished, PARTupdate settings wizard is automatically started.

Please specify the intervals which should be used to check for updates.

Please specify about which downloads you want to be informed.

Does your connection goes through a proxy? If you have not set it yet, then you can do it now.

On the last page the connection settings are tested and the results are displayed.

After successful installation the PARTupdate icon is displayed in the Windows task bar.

  • Without exclamation mark: Currently there are no updates available.

  • With exclamation mark: Updates are available.

Start

If, in the PARTupdate settings wizard, the option PARTupdate automatically start with Windows. is activated, no further action is necessary. The PARTupdate icon is always displayed in the Windows task bar.

Otherwise start the PARTupdate notification assistant via Start -> All Programs -> CADENAS -> PARTsolutions -> PARTupdate.

Actions

Via context menu command on the icon you can perform the following actions:

  • Check For Updates

    After the check it lasts a moment until the notification is displayed (as with double-clicking on the symbol).

  • Start Update Assistant

    PARTadmin is started with the category Catalog update.

  • Settings

    Via Settings the PARTupdate settings wizard opens up (see above).

  • Close

    With Close the assistant is turned off. --> The symbol disappears.

    You can call up the PARTupdate notification assistant anytime again via Start -> All Programs -> CADENAS -> PARTsolutions -> PARTupdate.

  • Click here for details.

    --> The available catalogs are shown.

    By clicking on To the download selection, PARTadmin opens with the category Catalog update.

  • Click here, to select catalogs you want to download.

    By clicking on this option the PARTadmin opens with the category Catalog update.
