4.7. Catalog (standard and supplier parts catalog) post-installation / update

[Note] Note

The downloading of catalogs (*.cip) is only possible for approved customers with valid maintenance.

For verification please send an e-mail to:

sekretariat@cadenas.de

Specifying:

Company, zip code, location, first and last name of the employee + e-mail address, which is used to login. As subject please enter "Verification of user data".

For a post-installation or an update of catalogs (standard or supplier parts catalogs) you have the following options:

  1. Complete package on DVD

    See under Section 3.1.2.1, “3D catalog selection: Standard and supplier part catalogs ”.

    This gives a good opportunity for the initial installation upon receipt of a release.

    Possibly the DVD catalog status may differ from the current one.

  2. Download via the CADENAS website http://www.cadenas.de + Offline Installation in PARTadmin with manual installation and prior check of version differences (useful for updates)

    1. Start under PARTadmin > category Catalog update > Offline.

    2. Open the downloaded catalogs using Open.

    3. In case of an update, you can now look at the version changes via Check and Compare.

  3. Online Download in PARTadmin with manual installation and prior check of version differences (useful for updates)

    1. Begin with PARTadmin > category Catalog update > Online.

    2. Deactivate the option Install after download!

    3. Start the download with Download/install selected catalogs.

      -> After the download, the catalogs are located in the directory which you define on the Settings tab page.

    4. Now switch to PARTadmin > category Catalog update > Offline.

      Open the sub-catalogs via Open.

      Now, via Check and Compare you can look at the version changes.

  4. Online Installation in PARTadmin (see Section 1.1.3.3.1, “ Catalog update Online ” in PARTsolutions / PARTcommunity4Enterprise - Administration Manual)

    Optional with automated information per PARTupdate (see Section 1.1.3.3.1.5, “ PARTupdate - Notification ” in PARTsolutions / PARTcommunity4Enterprise - Administration Manual)

    This variant, for example, is very convenient for first installation of a catalog.

  5. Optional for ERP integration (useful with updates, when you already have connected parts in the LinkDB.

    PARTadmin: Catalog update with automatic test for LinkDB conformity

    At catalog updates it can happen, that not all link database links are found for each product (due to project changes).

    During a PARTadmin Catalog update you are asked, whether you want to check the catalog for possible conflicts with existing LinkDB entries. These can then be solved by performing a new assignment inside the Update manager.

Open PARTadmin or PARTupdate

  1. PARTadmin in PARTdataManager via the button Update via Internet

    -> PARTadmin opens with the exact dialog page.

  2. PARTadmin from the startup menu and then Category > Catalog update > Online or Offline

  3. PARTupdate in the task bar:
