7.8.2.5.1. CNS classification and attributes

The CADENAS classification (Classification (CNS)) is used for the following:

  • Placement information, published elements and attributes

Assigning of elements happens in the PARTdesigner.

Detailed information on this is found under Section 5.9, “ Published elements ”.

  • Transfer physical properties (especially Volume, Mass, Density, Material)

Transfer Object attributes (especially order number)

    Transfer geometrical attributes

For the assignment of physical properties, object attributes and geometrical attributes proceed as follows:

  1. Under Classification (CNS), click on the search button ....

-> The dialog box Classification opens.

    Classification (CNS)

    Classification (CNS)

  2. Select the desired Class system.

  3. Click on the button add .

  4. Under Attributes (CNS) click on the search button ... .

-> The dialog box Class variables opens.

    Attributes (CNS)

    Attributes (CNS)

    All attributes are listed here.

Placement attributes have the identifier CNS_CP_PLACE_PA in the column "Class".

Object attributes have the identifier CNSERPBASE.

Physical attributes have the identifier CNSPHYPROP.

In the column Variable, you can assign variables, in the column Value, fixed values.

  5. Close the dialog box by clicking on OK.

When exporting to the CAD system all classification attributes are transferred. In the PS3 file you can find these in the section "CLASSIFICATIONINFO".

Information on how the physical attributes are analyzed, you can find in the PARTsolutions User manual in the respective CAD specific section under "Physical properties from PARTsolutions".

It would be an alternative concept using Standard variables directly in the table instead of using Class variables. Compare Section 11.5.2.2.4.1, “ Standard variables ”.
