10.5.4.3.8. Copy, mirror, rotate

Move selection :

Move sketch elements with help of a vector and/or by simultaneously copy it n-times by holding down the CTRL key.

Pan:

  1. Click on sketch element.

  2. Select Move selection button.

  3. Position vector: Mouse-click at start and endpoint. --> Element is moved according to length and direction of vector.

  4. In the Change parameter window, possibly adjust vector coordinates and thus position element exactly.

 

Move copy (for example, for multiple borings):

  1. Click on sketch element.

  2. Select Move selection button.

  3. Keep CTRL key held down and position vector.

  4. In the Change parameter window, possibly adjust vector coordinates and set Number of copies.

In the example, a copy of the circle is created 3 times, each time moved around the x-value 2.5 and the y-value 0 across from the left one.

Mirror selection :

Mirror axis across sketch element or by simultaneously copying with held down CTRL key.

Mirror (without original):

  1. Click on sketch element.

  2. Select Mirror selection button.

  3. Click on mirror axis: --> Element is mirrored (original disappears).

 

Mirror (with original):

  1. Click on sketch element.

  2. Select Mirror selection button.

  3. Keep CTRL key held down and click on mirror axis. --> Element is mirrored (original remains intact).

Rotate selection :

Move sketch element across a Point / reference angle or simultaneously copy by holding down the CTRL key.

Rotate (without original):

  1. Click on sketch element.

  2. Select Rotate selection button.

  3. Click on rotation point.

  4. Set reference angle above point.

  5. Set rotation angle above point.

  6. In the Change parameter window, possibly adjust the rotation angle.

 

Rotate ( with original):

  1. Click on sketch element.

  2. Select Rotate selection button.

  3. Keep CTRL key held down and follow steps as in "without original". --> Element is rotated (original remains intact).

Matrix copy :

Sketch element as matrix - in other words in rows and Columns - copy.

  1. Click on starting point of x-rotation.

  2. Click on endpoint of x-rotation.

  3. Click on starting point of y-rotation.

  4. Click on endpoint of y-rotation.

  5. In the Change parameter window, you can set the displacement more accurately and set the number of copies.

Variant copy :

Copy sketch element for user specific variants.

  1. Mark the sketch element by drawing a frame around it with held-down Shift key. --> The element turns pink .

  2. Press Variant copy button.

  3. Click on point of origin for the copy. The snap shows whether a point has been detected.

  4. Click on insertion point for copy. --> The Change parameter window opens. The copy of the element is placed according to the basic settings.

  5. Change the settings according to your desires. The variable „I“ (see example at right) is preassigned, however, it can still be changed. You should not choose already assigned variable names.

Example: You want to create a total of three copies of the selected element. These copies should each be rotated in connection to the variable around +30°.

Make adjustments in the Change parameter window according to the figure at right.

--> The element is copied three times.

The buttons of the menu group Copy, Mirror, Rotate can only be selected once a sketch element has been marked.
