The calculation of the detailing occurs in the PARTdataManager, either automatically, based on a specific algorithm[44] or is set explicitly for each level of detail in PARTdesigner; these specific presettings are then incorporated into the PARTdataManager. |
The default setting for the display of the detailing in PARTdesigner is "High".
The following describes how you can individually configure the features display.
If you want to use the Levels of Detail in PARTdesigner, carry out the command Calculate configuration automatically... " on the uppermost level of the context menu.
Now you can set the desired level of detail in the pull-down menu. The display corresponds to the single steps in the PARTdataManager.
The following commands are made available to you in the uppermost directory level in the context menu: |
|
All visible in this configuration
This command is used, for example when you want to display the same feature at the "medium" level as with "high".
All invisible in this configuration
For adjustment this can be the quickest at level "low".
First, hide all features, and then show each feature bit by bit, using the "visible in this configuration" command (found at feature level), until you have reached the desired level of detail for your feature.
All settings are deleted with this.
If you want to select Levels of Detail, activate .
Possibly this is the fastest way to start over or simply to receive a "neutral" part.
Calculate configuration automatically...
Only now are the automatically calculated levels of detail available.
Via this command, the level of detail is automatically calculated and also saved in the 3DB. This can be used as the basis for further reductions.
Using this command, you can reestablish the initial state, in case you previously made any changes.
Deactivate automatic configurations
Use this option to make sure that the LOD is always set to "high" and exported as such independent of the LOD setting in the PARTdataManager.
Use this command if, for example, you want to use the level of detail "low" with "medium".
Select the desired detailing in the pull-down menu (in this example "medium").
Select a specific feature (in this example sketch 5), which you would like to add to / remove from this step.
The activation/inactivation is shown by the checkmark in the command of the context menu.
Differing from the PARTdataManager, the level of detail "medium" will now be additionally assigned to sketch 5.
[44] The algorithm is based on an analysis of the relationship between the volume value of a detail and the entire volume of the part.
