7.5.1.2.10.3.  pdetailopt.cfg - Settings

Settings can be dealt with administratively in the pdetailopt.cfg file.

[Warning] Warning

Changes in this file can lead to a "damaged" pool directory.

The Level of Detail and possibly also the CAD file names are influenced.

Therefore, changes are only to be done in agreement with the entire concept (consider ERP/PDM/Pool).

The figure shows the default values

The figure shows the default values

[Note] Note

The configuration file contains deactivated sample values for the CATALOGS, DIRECTORIES and PROJECTS blocks.

7.5.1.2.10.3.1.  Block MAIN
  • Key "ACTIVE"

    • true: detailing activated

    • false: detailing deactivated

  • Key "FIXEDCONFIG"

    • true

You can set the Level of Detail at the CATALOG, DIRECTORIES and PROJECTS level separately.

Activate and modify the necessary keys in PARTadmin in the CATALOGS, DIRECTORIES and PROJECTS blocks.

Under CATALOGS with high numbering CAT1, CAT2, etc.; under DIRECTORIES DIR1, DIR2, etc.; under PROJECTS PRJ1, PRJ2,etc.

For not further specified catalogs, directories and projects, the "DEFAULT" key applies. Select the desired value HIGH, MED or LO.

    • false

All 3 Levels of Detail will be exported (according to the requirements of the respective CAD-interface) - as long as they are supported by the CAD-System - otherwise level 'HI' will be exported.

  • Key "EXPANDNB"

    • true

The Export-Handover-Parameter "NAME", "SHORTNAME" expands with the name expansion defined under "CONFIGNAMES".

    • false

      No name expansion.

Please see other settings options in the following Tabelle:

7.5.1.2.10.3.2.  Block CONFIGNAMES

Providing that no configurations in PARTdesigner were set automatically or manually, the "HI_AUTO", "MED_AUTO" and "LO_AUTO" keys will be used as CONFIGNAMES and will be shown in 3D view in the PARTdataManager.

As soon as configurations are set, the "HI", "MED" and "LO" keys will be used.

7.5.1.2.10.3.3.  CATALOGS, DIRECTORIES, PROJECTS Blocks

The keys in the pdetailopt.cfg file contain sample data see figure above and the following tabulation). If required, activate the key and adjust the data according to your needs.

7.5.1.2.10.3.4. Tabulation

BLOCK KEY DATA (default) DESCRIPTION

  LOD2D false
  AUTOLO 10

Percentage: As soon as the value of the volume of a detail is composed of less than the appointed percentage, it will not be displayed.

  AUTOMED 1

  HI_AUTO

Name expansion for Standard Name with Level of Detail "HI" with automatic configuration

[Note] Note

"HI" shows up in the PARTdataManager as a name expansion if the configuration was explicitly calculated or changed; otherwise "HI_AUTO" will show up.

With "MED" and "LO" the same is accounted for.

MED_AUTO _MED Name expansion for Standard Name with Level of Detail "MED" with automatic configuration
LO_AUTO _LO Name expansion for Standard Name with Level of Detail "LO" with automatic configuration
CATALOGS DEFAULT MED

Presetting of the Level of Detail in catalogs. Only active when FIXEDCONFIG="true". For all non-explicitly named catalogs the DEFAULT-value is assigned. List the catalogs which should contain their own data with the CAT1, CAT2, etc., keys.

[Note] Note

pdetailopt.cfg contains deactivated sample data for this.

  CAT1 MED=norm
  CAT2 LO=festo
  CAT3 LO=ganter
  etc.
DIRECTORIES DIR1 HI=norm/ din_en_iso/ bolts Presetting of the Level of Detail in directories. Only active when FIXEDCONFIG="true". Overwrites the "CATALOGS" settings. List the catalogs which should contain their own setting with the DIR1, DIR2, etc., keys.
  DIR2 HI=norm/ din_en_iso/ nuts
  etc.
PROJECTS PRJ1 MED=norm/ din_en_iso/ bolts/ din912.prj Presetting of the Level of Detail in catalogs. Only active when FIXEDCONFIG="true". Overwrites the "DIRECTORIES" settings. List the catalogs which should contain their own data with the PRJ1, PRJ2, etc., keys.

7.5.1.2.10.3.5. Export of neutral formats and 2D derivation

Up to and including PARTsolutions Version 8.1.05, the Level of Detail was always, independent of administrative settings, exported as "HIGH" during the export of neutral formats and the 2D derivation.

In Version 8.1.06, the export of neutral formats and the 2D derivation is conducted analogously with the 3D export of native CAD formats.
