7.5.4.3.3. Line

Line through 2 points :

Define line through two points.

  1. First lead the cursor to the desired starting point of the line.

  2. Confirm with a simple mouse-click

  3. Pull line to endpoint.

  4. With a simple mouse-click you confirm and thus fix the line.

  5. The coordinates of the endpoint can be further edited in the input fields of the Change parameter window.

Create parallel line :

Create parallels to an existing line.

  1. Click on desired line.

  2. Parallel is "hanging" on your cursor and can thus be "placed" with a mouse-click.

  3. In the currently opening Change parameter window ,the Distance to the initial line can be set as a value.

Perpendicular to line through point :

Create perpendiculars to an existing line

  1. Click on line at desired spot and set base point.

  2. "Pull" line to endpoint and set via mouse-click.

  3. The position of the endpoint can be set via the coordinate values in the opening Change parameter window.

Midpoint perpendicular to line :

Perpendiculars to selected line in same length.

Click on base line.

--> Perpendicular bisector of the side shows up.

Bisect angle between 2 lines :

Set bisecting angle between two lines.

  1. Click on first line.

  2. Click on second line.

  3. Determine possible location (variant) of the bisector above point (cursor).

Line at angle to line with length :

This function enables the creation of lines in angles to the horizontal (for example, the x-axis).

  1. Select base line.

  2. Select point of origin (must not necessarily be located on base line!).

  3. Position endpoint. Via the Change parameter window, the line can be set to specific values.

Angle a refers to the angular position of the base line!

Line at angle to horizontal, length :

With this function lines in angles can be created into imaginary horizontals.

  1. Select point of origin of line.

  2. Position endpoint. Via the Change parameter window, the line can be set to specific values.

Angle a refers to a horizontal (0°).

Horizontal line :

Create horizontal construction line in distance to y point of origin.

  1. Select distance.

  2. The length of the line is at first given (50). It may be adjusted in the Change parameter window.

Vertical line :

Create vertical construction line in distance to x point of origin.

see horizontal

Line tangent to 2 circles :

Create a tangential line between two circles or Arcs.

  1. Click on first circle/arc.

  2. Click on second circle/arc.

Tangent from point to circle :

Create a tangential line between a Point and a Circle or arc.

  1. Click on point of origin.

  2. Click on circle/arc.
