9.8.1. Create dummy starting part

  1. Create your working directory.

  2. From "training/assembly/scharnier", copy the projects "wing.prj" and "bolt.prj" in the newly created directory.

  3. Apply dummy starter-part as new project "scharnier_dummy.prj" with draft for 3-D project.prj .

  4. Mark the file "wing.rac" in wing.prj" and in the dialog area Edit project click on Edit.

    -> The PARTeditor opens. Save the file as "hinge_dummy.tac". (Confirm - if the query pops up - "Replace?" with "Yes").

    In your newly applied directory, select the file "scharnier_dummy.tac" under General1 --> Table file in the list field.

    The table hinge_dummy.tac will be visible in the assembly later.

  5. In PARTproject mark the file "scharnier_dummy.tac" and in the dialog area Edit project click on Edit.

    -> PARTeditor opens or the view switches to PARTeditor.

    Insert a variable ANG to control the angularity of the hinge.

    Adjust the standard description:

    The table file was copied from "wing.prj".

    Since this table is used for the assembly-table project, the conditions "Standard Number", "Standard title", "Standard name" and "BOM name" must be accordingly assigned:

    Standard numbers and standard titles can be assigned as desired.

    You must be careful with Standard name that the name of the assembly becomes clear! In our example, the name is distinguished by the use of $L. and $ANG.

    The BOM names correspond to the standard conditions, for example.

  6. Define the value range.

    For example: [0:180]

  7. Open "hinge_dummy.3db" and add the Connection point for the actual assemblies.

    Accept the changes and save the file.

    The file only contains the connection point and no geometry.
