5.8.4. Map class systems: Example

[Note] Note

The following simple example shows the basic approach for the mapping of class systems.

The class system eClass 5.1 is mapped onto the own class system "myclassification2". Just as well two own class systems could be mapped onto each other or eClass 5.1 onto eClass 8.0.

The final assignment of the mapping is exemplary shown for the directory under Standards/DIN/nuts. Just as well the assignment could be performed to parts of your own parts catalog. (With the Levenshtein algorithm you can adjust the mapping with the help of different parameters.)

  1. PARTproject -> Extras menu -> Class systems: edit...:

    Create your own class system. See Section 5.7, “Apply own Class system ”. In the example in hand only one class and two subclasses have been created.

  2. Update the index!

    PARTadmin -> category Index administration

    1. Under catalogs -> Standards -> DIN -> Nuts: Context menu command Update

    2. Your classification: Context menu command Add to index

    3. Your classification: Context menu command Create full-text search index

    Detailed information on this is found under Section 1.1.3.4, “ Index administration ” in PARTsolutions / PARTcommunity4Enterprise - Administration Manual.

  3. PARTproject -> Extras menu -> Additional modules -> Map class systems...

    Open the menu at eClass5.1 and perform a double-click on the class system to be mapped (in this case your own class system) or, in the context menu, click on Create mapping....

    -> The dialog box Map class systems opens.

  4. Perform the mapping with the help of the Levenshtein algorithm and the settings Attribute: Name of the class and Attribute: Name of the class variable.

  5. In the context menu of your class system, click on Load mapping.

  6. On the directory, where you want to assign projects to your own (mapped) classification, call up the context menu.

    -> The dialog box Set classification opens.

  7. In the list field under Classification select your own classification (here "myclassification2").

    Activate the checkbox under Other classification and in the list field, select "eClass 5.1".

    Confirm by clicking on OK.

    -> The process is logged in the dialog box Create standardization system.

  8. Update the index!

    PARTadmin -> category Index administration

    1. Under Catalogs -> Industry Standards -> DIN -> Nuts: Context menu command Update

    2. Your classification: Context menu command Update

    3. Your classification: Context menu command Create full-text search index
