L'eusocialità (dal greco eu, "buono", e "socialità") è il livello più alto di organizzazione sociale che si realizza per alcune specie animali. Il termine eusociale fu creato nel 1966 da Suzanne Batra in riferimento alle api della famiglia Halictidae.[1] Nel 1971 E. O. Wilson le diede un significato più preciso.[2] In principio si riferiva solamente a quegli organismi che riunivano certe[Quali?] caratteristiche (originariamente solo invertebrati); dopo il riferimento divenne più ampio.[3][4]
