    1. Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself and your background?

I am Obasogie Okpamen, a multi award winning Mechanical Engineer and industrial designer, a student of Landmark University, Nigeria. Most recently, I was named the 2019 Additive World Winner for generative design (Topology Optimization) in additive manufacturing and a finalist for the 2019 3D Pioneers Challenge. Designing is my life.

    2. What software do you use?

CAD: Rhinoceros, Autodesk Fusion 360, Modo, AutoCAD, Maya & Solid Works. Rendering: Keyshot. Graphics Design: Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator).

    3. When and how did you start with 3D modeling and what was your first model?

I started learning 3D modelling after high-school which is about eight years ago, but I have professionally been modelling for four years now. My cousin introduced me to it. My first model was an attempt to model a Monster character's face in Autodesk Maya.

    4. What are your favorite modeling subjects/themes?

I specialize in Mechanical/Industrial design. Modelling machines and products is what I love.

    5. Are you also into 3D printing?

Yes, I am into 3D printing (Additive Manufacturing). As mentioned earlier, I have a couple awards for my work in this field.

    6. Is there any specific 3D model you are proud of and why?

Yes, notably the Ina Lite Project - a sustainable energy device and the redesign of the Alfa Romeo twin spark engine CON ROD using topology optimization which have given me my most recent honors and announced me to the world.

    7. What was the most challenging project you have done?

The most challenging project I have done was the design of the frame and structure for a monorail train car and simulating the static stresses on the chassis structure.

    8. As one of our most active members on PARTcloud.net, what do you find so attractive about it?

I love PARTcloud.net, because it is a wonderful community of really passionate designers who have inspirational and creative projects. I am also motivated by the 3D weekly challenges which keep me fresh and active as a practicing designer. Also, the admins are very lovely people.

    9. What features in PARTcommunity/PARTcloud would you like to see in the future?

I would like if the community could seek out and support talents by increasing the number of competitions or better introduce croudsourcing to the platform. This will be a great support for the members.

    10. Do you have any other hobbies?

Yes, I love soccer, playing computer games and hanging out with my friends and family when I am less busy.

    11. Do you have any goals for the future regarding 3D modeling?

I aim to be an icon in 3D Modelling, start up a studio and teach/train skillful and talented people. Unfortunately, in my home county Nigeria we do not have the opportunity to learn designing in professional schools which is making most of us to be self taught.

    12. What advice would you give to beginners?

My advice is that in your talent you can find fulfillment. Focus and go through the hard times of learning. Remember that to be a professional means to be consistent.
