    June 2018: Sanket Patil

    1. Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself and your background?

My full name is Sanket Dhananjay Patil. I am pursuing Mechanical engineering in G.C.O.E.R.C from Nashik, Maharashtra and I am in my 3rd year. I started designing 1 year ago (I really like to design). I started first with Catia and later on, I started with Fusion 360. I spend most of my time on designing or learning new things; tricks of designing. In the future, I would like to work as a design engineer.

    2. What software(s) do you use?

FUSION 360, Catia, but mostly Fusion360.

    3. When and how did you start with 3D modeling and what was your first model?

I took a 1-month course of Catia in NEC in Nashik. Later, I got interested in designing.

    4. What are your favorite modeling subjects/themes?

I like to design chassis, robots, drones, machines, cars components and a lot of other things.

    5. Are you also into 3D printing?

Not yet, but I would like to be.

    6. Is there any specific 3D model that you are proud of and why?

I like one specific model: the red go-kart I designed, because it was designed for a competition. The dimensions were real and later we had to manufacture it, so our team worked on it a lot. My job was to design it. It took 1 month for us to research the components and to work on it.

    7. What was the most challenging project you have done?

The red go-kart was challenging, but I like to design, so it was good to work on it. We designed 22 chassis and later selected 1 from that fits under our criteria.

    8. As one of our most active members on PARTcloud.net, what do you find so attractive about it?

There are a lot of competitions and talented people there. Also, there was your guidance and support and the 3D Modelling Championship. I am daily thinking of which model to design. I like to design, but there are less people around me involved in designing, so mostly I spend time on your website observing models.

    9. What features in PARTcommunity/PARTcloud would you like to see in the future?

To keep designers attracted and taking events like 3D Modelling Championship, having some benefits for designers and provide even some career opportunities. PARTcommunity.com portal is great!

    10. Do you have any other hobbies?

I play football just for fun, I like to talk about machines and I like to travel.

    11. Do you have any goals for the future regarding 3D modeling?

Yes, I would like to get involved in designing and analysis in the future.

    12. What advise would you give to beginners?

Designing is a very creative thing: if you practice it on a daily basis - you can design anything you want!
