  • We would like to introduce our most active members on PARTcloud.net every two weeks. The goal is to find out more about them, but also to show our appreciation for their contribution.

    December 2017: Marco Huijbertsen

    1. Can you tell us a little bit more about yourself and your background?

I studied mechanical engineering. In 1997 I had an accident and broke my back, so I could not continue working as a mechanical engineer. In 1999 I started with graphic design as my new goal. I have always been involved in technical stuff. Since this year, I started exploring AutoCAD 3D software.

    2. What software(s) do you use?

I mostly work in AUTOCAD 2015 and Blender 3D. For the textures I use Photoshop and Illustrator.

    3. When and how did you start with 3D modeling and what was your first model?

I started in May 2017 with 3D modeling and my first design was a square block with some holes in it.

    4. What are your favorite modeling subjects/themes?

Imagination, devising strange designs which are actually impossible.

    5. Are you also into 3D printing?

Not yet, but that is my next goal.

    6. Is there any specific 3D model you are really proud off and why?

Yes: I made a robot reading a book that I'm definitely proud of!

    7. What was the most challenging project you have done?

Each project is a challenge; you always want to make it more beautiful and better than the previous one.

    8. As one of our most active members on PARTcloud.net, what do you find so attractive about it?

PARTcloud.net is the most comprehensive website for the CAD design. You can find everything from information to examples (other members' posts).
And of course the Weekly Challenge!

    9. What features in PARTcommunity/PARTcloud you would like to see in future?

PARTcommunity/PARTcloud is already very extensive, so I do not know what else could be implemented.

    10. Do you have any other hobbies?

My accident happened long time ago, so today I can snowboarding and running, again. I love to run hard for charities!

    11. Do you have any goals in future regarding 3D modeling?

I hope to find a job where I can work in AutoCAD 3D software.

    12. What advise would you give to beginners?

If things go wrong – do NOT give up!
