3.2.4.  Edit the classification features and the description.

In order to edit classification attributes, do the following:

  1. Mark the project in which you want to apply attributes.

  2. Now you have two options:

    • Click on toolbar, Edit the classification features and the description. button.

    • Click on context menu of selected class, Edit class....

    -> The Edit class dialog opens.

You now have the following options:

  1. Add new attribute

    1. Click on .

      --> A new row with mode New is added.

    2. Enter the desired parameters into the row. The respective entry field is opened when you double-click into the field.

      [Note] Note
      • As long as you not have confirmed yet via Ok, you can remove a new entry via again (see next point).

      • Not until a Feature name is entered in the according column new added attributes are valid. Without attribute name all entries remain unconsidered.

    3. Confirm with Ok. -> The new attributes are taken over and the dialog closes.

  2. Delete new added attribute again

    Click into the row to delete (concerning New mode[15]) and then on .

    Confirm with Ok. -> The delete command is processed and the dialog closes.

  3. Edit already set attributes

    1. Double-click on the desired value.

      -> The respective input field opens.

    2. Edit the value. ("Attribute name" is not editable.)

    3. Set the desired mode in the Mode column.

      The following options are available in the list field:

      • Keep

        Keep is default as long as no changes have been set.

        Choose this selection when you made changes but do not want them to be carried out.

      • Modify

        When changes have been made in a row then the mode automatically switches to Modify.

      • Delete

        Choose Delete when you want to delete the respective row (attribute).

    4. Confirm with Ok. -> The dialog closes and the changes are carried out.

The columns of the Edit class window:

  • Mode

    In the selection list you can carry out the following settings.

    1. For already existing entries:

      • Keep

        Keep is default as long as no changes have been set.

      • Modify

        When changes have been made in a row then the mode automatically switches to Modify.

      • Delete

        Choose Delete when you want to delete the respective row (attribute).

    2. For new added entries:

      • New

        New automatically appears when you have added a new attribute via .

  • Feature name

    The Feature name field is only editable when New mode is used, thus for a new added row.

  • Feature type

    You can carry out the following changes in the selection list.

    • Text

    • Number

    • Float

  • Unit

    Ex. mm, inch

  • Decimal digits

    This specification is only relevant with Float.

  • List of values / Value range

    With lists of values or value ranges choose YES in the drop-down menu, otherwise No.

  • Description (Language)

    Description is available for every language.

    Corresponding columns are set up for every applied language.
