3.1.6.4.10.1.  Topology search: The most important at a glance
Description of function

The Topology search is particularly suitable where single attributes such as Size, Distances, Angle, Pattern, etc. are possibly more characteristic than the form. It can be used without textual information and without reference part. It also can be used in searching out the best part step by step when result parts provide (new) search terms via part information or can serve as reference part for a following geometrical search.

Process
  1. Call:

In the opened menu of the enhanced search methods, click on Topology search.

-> The same-named dialog box opens.

  2. Add search condition

    Click on the respective button.

    [Note] Note

When moving the mouse over a button, in the tooltip, the respective information is given.

-> The search condition is displayed with the respective parameters below.

    Search condition "Size" added

Then click on the desired parameter(s) and confirm by clicking on the green checkmark.

You can add as many conditions as you like. And you can search just with one condition.

    • Buttons

      • : Line of respective search condition is removed again.

      • Entered value is removed again.

      • Closing of dialog with adoption of displayed value.

      • Closing of dialog without adoption of any changes.

    • Syntax for input fields:

      • Equality: =34.45 (here, the = can be left out)

      • Greater / smaller: >34.34 (equivalent: >=, <, <=)

      • Range/intervall: 34.5-35.5

Also use this option for the setting of tolerances.

  3. Click on Commit.

    Commit

Takes over all changes and closes the dialog box.

Start the Topology search via Start search.

    Commit and Search

Closes the dialog box starts the Topology search.

    Cancel

Closes the dialog box without saving any changes.

-> Selection is displayed in the dialog area of search methods.

  4. Click Start search.

-> The results are listed on their own tabbed page. When moving the mouse over a result, you can check the part in 3D.
