5.2.4.3.  Set up ODBC manually

Install the ODBC driver.

  1. Open the below shown window in the Start/Settings/System Control/Administration/Data Source (ODBC)directory. (The description may differ slightly according to operating system.)

  1. Open the tab system DSNor user DSN.

    --> System data sources that are already inserted may be listed.

  2. Click on the button Add...

  1. --> The window Create new data source with all installed drivers shows up.

    Select the driver and click on Finish.

  1. --> The Connector/ODBC(example) window shows up.

    Make the following specification (see image) and confirm with OK.

    Name of computer on which the database is installed. (Does not apply for local installation)

Counts analogously for all databases:

Prerequisite is a ODBC driver compatible with the used databases. An example for an ODBC connection under MSSQL can be found under Section 5.20.3.2, “ Try NT user authentication ”.

Determine the computer name during installation in the following manner:

In the Start menu go to Conduct.

In the same window, enter cmd .

Enter the DOS box host name.

--> As an answer, the computer name shows up.

Please as for the server name via the network administration during a client-server installation.

[Note] Note

The name PLINKDB in the Data Source Name field can be selected as desired. Please note, however, that in PARTlinkManager under Extras > Configure ERP environment > tab page Database -> Database -> Name you have the same entry.
