1.1.3.3.2. Before the catalog installation "Check" and "Compare"

Check and Compare is only possible before the installation.

If, under Catalog update -> Online, you deactivated the option Install after download, then the downloaded catalogs are found in the temporary Download directory now, which you had determined in the settings dialog.

Do the following:

  1. Close all CADENAS programs!

  2. Save all cip files (temporary) to be installed locally.

  3. Click on Open.

    -> Now select as many of the saved *.cip files as you wish in the Explorer window.

    These are then shown in the Catalogs dialog area.

  4. Under Versions, select one of these options:

    • Keep all

      As of version V9.02 to 9.03 please obligatory select this option!

      As of V9.04 you may select “Number of version = 2“ as well for example.

    • Only keep the new version

    • Number of versions [2] (Default)

      If you have several locations where CADENAS_DATA is replicated, then you should always select “Number of versions = 2“.

    Optionally activate Save original files of new version.

    Detailed information is found under Section 1.1.3.3.2.1, “Versions ”.

  5. Install

    Make sure to conduct a Check and/or Compare before installation. (See the items below.)

    In order to begin catalog installation, click on Install.

  6. Check (optional)

    Clicking on Check opens the Check catalog window.

    After clicking OK a test run takes place that gives an overview about which part families are new or have been changed and which are no longer available in the new catalog (tabs Protocol and Status).

    After the test run has finished, a message, such as the one to the right, will appear.

    Optionally, you have available: Log renamed variables

    On the Status tabbed page you can find an exact list of the status of individual projects.

    The table to the right explains the meaning of the symbols.

  7. Compare (optional)

    By clicking on Compare, the Catalog comparison page opens. You have two selection options

    • Quick comparison

      Compares the catalog data and displays the various projects.

    • Detailed comparison

      Compares the catalog data and displays the various projects, including images and historical data.

    Under Installed catalog and Compressed catalog old and new versions are placed face-to-face. For each selection your receive detailed information regarding changes on the tab pages Project, History and Table.
