1.1.3.3.5.1. Revising / Updating the LinkDB
  • The revising of the projects occurs automatically during a catalog update.

After reinstalling a catalog, you will receive the message at the right.

  • When using PARTsolutions with ERP integration the version number in the LinkDB will also be adjusted during a catalog update.

Should the entry of the version number in the project file and in the LinkDB differ, the project cannot be displayed in the PARTdataManager.

This may occur, for example, during deletion and reinstallation of a catalog.

With PARTlinkManager -> Extras -> Workflow -> Update manager -> context menu of catalog -> Correct version numbers the entry can be easily corrected in the LinkDB.

More information about the Update manager can be found under Workflow - Katalogupdate.

1.1.3.3.5.1.1. Per Parameter calls

Manual revision per parameter call may be necessary to remove errors if variants in an ERP environment were accidentally created with PARTeditor instead of PARTlinkManager.

[Note] Note

Creating variants with PARTeditor is not intended during ERP integration!

Should this however be the case, do the following to remove the error:

Start the PARTadmin with padmin.exe -updatedb -detectVariant. A dialog shows up in which the catalog can be selected which needs to be updated in the link database.

You have a limited possibility for corrections!

If you start PARTadmin with the parameter -updateDB, then PARTadmin determines all installed catalogs whose update status has not yet been updated in the link database. These catalogs are then listed in the Update dialog window. By clicking on OK the catalogs are then updated in the link database.

On the Protocol tabbed page you can see the status of the update.
