1.7.1.1. User interface at a glance

The user interface under Category -> Configuration files (V2) is subdivided in the following way:

  • Left dialog area:

The configuration files are subdivided in different directories by their storage path, which is represented by an environment variable.

    • $CADENAS_USER

    • $CADENAS_SETUP

    • $CADENAS_DATA/datasetup

    • $CADENAS_DEFAULTUSER

    • $CADENAS_LICENSE

Once opening a directory you can see the corresponding configuration files .[13]

  • Middle dialog area:

Once selecting a configuration file , in the tree, in the middle dialog area, the corresponding blocks, keys and values are displayed.

    • The first column contains the blocks with corresponding keys.

When clicking on the small black icons you can open or close the blocks.

In an opened block the keys are visible.[14]

    • The second column contains the key values.

If the column is too narrow to display the complete value, you can use the tooltip.

  • Right dialog area

On the right side you can see the following dialog areas:

    • Short description

In the dialog area Short description you can find basic information on the currently selected block or key.

    • Documentation

For more complex context, in the dialog area Documentation, the corresponding section of the documentation is displayed. If not available, this area remains empty.

      [Note] Note

If only Short description or only Documentation is available, then the respectively other area is hidden.

If information is available for both areas, then you can shift the border line after mouseover.

      • Further inquiry by mail

The button Further inquiry by mail is displayed only internally for CADENAS[15]. When clicking on the button a window of the default e-mail application opens. The currently selected elements are already entered. “ConfigEditor” is entered as subject.

    • Comment for current installation

In the dialog area Comment for current installation, comments on changes can be made (e.g. reason for changes)

Entries are saved in the SITESETUP directory under $CADENAS_SITESETUP/configEditorUserIo.xml.[16]

    • last changes

In the dialog area last changes the last value changes of the currently selected key are listed with their date.

When clicking on the icon an entry can be removed. When double-clicking on a value in the column Old values or New values, this value is set.

Entries are saved in the SITESETUP directory under $CADENAS_SITESETUP/configEditorUserIo.xml.[17]

      [Note] Note

The functions under Comment for current installation and last changes are only available if SITE_SETUP is activated.
