Details on this are found under Chapter 3, PARTsolutions - PDM Integration in PARTsolutions / PARTcommunity4Enterprise - Administration Manual.

  • PARTconnection is no longer an independent module with V9.02, it is now integrated within PARTdataManager.

  • PARTshaft will no longer be continued in version 9. Version 8.1.09 was the last version with PARTshaft.

  • eCATALOGsolutions for V9 is released with V9.02. Please contact the respective project manager at CADENAS, if you want to model with V9.03 so that there is no collision during project management and to make sure the catalog is available correctly online.

  • Important information for existing customers with V8.1 and lower:

    • You must uninstall V8.1 before you can install version 9. The DATA directory remains untouched during the deinstallation and can be further used in V9. There is a migration assistant available in PARTadmin for this (see Section 1.1.3.3.4, “ Migration ” in PARTsolutions / PARTcommunity4Enterprise - Administration ManualHowever, neither the full text search, nor the improved geometric search can be used. Therefore the migration is recommended primarily for own part catalogs and native catalogs. For the catalogs we provide, we recommend updating these using the catalog DVDs or via PARTadmin -> Catalog update.

    • New parts will be created in the CAD pool in the standard catalogs. The naming of all standard parts after transfer into the CAD have therefore been changed. The reason is that the geometries have been vastly changed so that the level of detail is possible. This is an important feature for many customers. There are possibilities to get the old behavior back per configuration. Please read the documentation (see the PARTsolutions Admin manual, under CAD Integration, Configuration for using pool data).

In addition after the installation the option for FlatPool (pool with subdirectories or flat hierarchy) is set to the V8.1 default. If you had changed this option, then use the same setting in V9 again.

Furthermore now there is a new naming option for all pool parts. After the installation the old naming rule is active. However you may change to the new naming rule via configuration.

On this please see under Section 2.2.2, “Set file name ("FileName" key) and pool path ("poolpath" key) ” in PARTsolutions / PARTcommunity4Enterprise - Administration Manual.

More information about the above mentioned points can be found under Section 4.2, “Update from V8.1 to V9 ”, and especially in Section 4.3, “Update from V8.1 to V9 with ERP connection ” and ??? in general.

  • Important notes for existing customers with V9.02 or smaller.

As of V9.03 the license management has been completely reviewed. Due to many innovations and simplifications a new license service is necessary for the administration of Floating licenses. Should there already be a license service in use, then please finish it before. Parallel operation is not provided by default. Detailed information on the license service is found under Section 3.4, “FLM Server Installation - Request/install licenses ”.

  • Under ??? you will receive an overview of all manuals and further sources of information. In the online format you can quickly reach desired information via manual comprehensive linking.
