10.5.3.1. Apply new variable - Commit

  1. Right-click on the Variable field and enter the name of your variable.

    • The variable name may be maximally 10 Symbol long.

    • In order to keep the equations clear, the variable names should be as short as possible.

    • Only capital letters are to be used.

  2. With the TAB key or with your mouse, jump to the next Equation . Here you can give your variable a specific value. It is also possible to make the contents of this variable dependant on other variables, You can enter any equation into this field, for example 2* D1 or D1+D2. After confirming with Return the value is displayed next to the right of the variable in the Variable field.

    The degree of the angle functions must be set in parentheses.

  3. Since the variable name is only allowed to be 10 characters long, you may add a describing text about the variable into the Description field.

    In order for the variable to be later easily identified, a description should always be applied.

  4. Confirm you entries by clicking on the Commit button.

    The new variable is carried over into the variable list.

Changes to equation values and description texts must be confirmed in the same manner.
