Value ranges can be defined as different types. They appear in the window Value ranges (call in PARTdesigner via same-named icon). As far as textual values are used, the type Name of value should always be preferred – in the front end, a text is shown and in the background a numbered index is used. For textual values, the type Value list is possible, however, from the technical point of view unfavorable. "name of values" is the most ERP friendly value range type in case of textual value range contents.
